What’s New in Elfaria – A City Building PC Game
Elf Liangar is an MMORPG game that was previously developed by InnoGames and is now released in the Early Access version. Elf Liangar is quite different from other massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs). It is an online strategy game that is in the genre of old-school text-based RPGs like Baldur’s Gate and Disgaea. I’m pretty sure there aren’t too many other text-based RPGs that have been successfully remade in an online role-playing game and still received high scores from critics.
So what makes Elf Liangar a classic strategy game and is it worth playing despite its old age? To start with, it is a browser-based browser game. Not only that but it also has a few unique features that set it apart from the rest of the genre. For one, you can create your own character and get to fight and recruit fellow players in order to build up your city and level up your character. From that perspective, it is a browser-based role-playing game that is very much similar to Baldur’s Gate and Disgaea, but it differs in that it is more mature, with a focus on narrative instead of pure entertainment value.
The story of Elf Liangar follows two families, the Elks, and the Dwarves, who are forced to flee their homeland after being attacked by marauding Trolls. The Dwarves are forced to build an elven city in the hope of building a refuge for themselves while the Elks settle down and make a new life in a peaceful village. However, things do not go as planned, and both races become enemies and must work together in order to survive.
The first part of the game involves the exploration of the elvenar environs. You will see the land almost as you would see it in reality, with forests, plateaus and sandy beaches all having to be respected. In fact, exploring is just as much of a part of the experience as fighting. You will need to carefully decide which route to take in battle and which to avoid, choosing the best path based on what will lead your character to safety. During your travels, you will also have to deal with a variety of quests, some simple and some more challenging than others, some that will earn you money and others that will not, and each of them offering different benefits that will help you in the long run.
Another major difference between Elvenar and other similar games is in the way the game deals with time. Although it is clearly set thousands of years in the future, the game’s events happen in real-time, so your avatar doesn’t have a regenerating health bar that means it can heal every time it takes a hit. Rather, your actions and reactions to situations are determined by the time at which you interact with the game’s world. This can be good or it can be bad depending on how you play and how you plan your strategy, but both aspects can add depth to your playing experience, making the game feel more like a full-featured role-playing game.
Unlike most of the other elves you’ll meet in Elricth, aliens are a very traditional race, often having traits common to many other races from other video games. elves in Elricth, however, are more prone to being more humble and reserved than most others, especially during their homeland, Aeducia. City building in the game takes on a significant amount of time, and if you want to have any real-life impact when creating your own city, the time management system in Elricth is sure to give you a hand.
The combat system in Elricth is quite solid, although it can be lacking when it comes to overall effectiveness. Some players may simply prefer a more traditional city-building gameplay over browser-based combat. Fortunately, the combat system in Elricth doesn’t need to be implemented as a true game of warfare, so the combat can be as much fun as it is in narrative-based games such as Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings. Regardless of whether you prefer a more traditional role-playing game or a browser-based player versus player title, Elricth should still provide you with hours of entertainment.
As mentioned earlier, while some players will find the browser-based Elricth boring due to its lack of depth, it should be noted that the single-player campaign in Elricth gives you a way to experience the world and the lore behind the game through the eyes of an expert character. This includes conversations with lore experts who will tell you about aspects of Elricth and the history of the elves living in it. While this is not possible in the game as you have to go through the content yourself, it is a great way to experience the game’s world and lore. In fact, players who want to delve deeper into the game’s lore will do well to stick with the single-player campaign because it will offer them more story-based content and multiple outcomes.
